Madison Paez

Madi, a South Florida native and graduate of the University of Chicago, co-founded GI 305 in 2023 with her colleague, Jandrick, to advance guaranteed income in Miami-Dade County neighborhoods most vulnerable to poverty, violence, and displacement.

Prior to founding GI 305, Madi served as the Project Coordinator for the Illinois Justice Project. She represented Team USA at the Pan-American Karate Championships in 2015 and currently trains for triathlons in her free time.

Jandrick Castro

Jandrick Castro, originally from Sanford, Florida, moved to Chicago in 2018 to pursue a dual degree from the University of Chicago in Public Policy and Economics. A first-generation American from a low-income community, Jandrick is an advocate for the abolition of poverty and believes in open-border policies. He is constantly engaged in poverty work and strives to center political narratives around those most affected.

After graduating in 2022, Jandrick joined the Legal Aid Foundation in Chicago in the Children and Families practice group contesting poverty-rooted family separations as enforced by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. He co-founded GI 305 with Madi in 2023. Jandrick is one of three siblings but has 73 known cousins. He is also a skilled weightlifter and RipStik sevant.
